Songland, an NBC original show, offers contestants the opportunity to write original songs for award-winning performing artists. With a chance to be the creative genius behind an artists’ next big hit, Songland has featured some of the hottest competition of the summer. The marketing team at FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) saw just how successful Songland was becoming and decided they wanted to make one aspiring songwriters’ dreams come true. FCA teamed up with NBC and the two created a challenge for each contestant to write a song specifically catered toward a Jeep commercial. Katelyn Tarver poured her heart and soul into her song, “Young,” ultimately winning over the judges and securing the chance to team up with Jeep and award-winning, Nashville band Old Dominion. Click here to listen to “Young” “Young” doesn’t just speak to the feeling of freedom and Americana that Jeep is known for. It brings about feelings of youthful joy and a strong sense of adventure that parallels Tarver’s journey through the music industry. Apollo 11 Splashdown Celebration

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11  Splashdown, Jeep invited a handful of lucky customers to the USS Hornet, in Alameda, California, to test out the 2020 Jeep Gladiator and 2019 Wrangler on a custom-built obstacle course. This event comes just a week after the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11’s splashdown upon re-entering Earth’s atmosphere. The USS Hornet was there to retrieve the crew of Apollo 11 from the Pacifica Ocean back in 1969 and performed the same service for the crew of Apollo 12. The USS Hornet also participated in the three most important WWII battles in the Pacific theater.Jeep has seen plenty of action on the military front, providing American armed forces with the 1944 Willys MB and 1951 M38 Navy Jeep, both of which were available for viewing on the USS Hornet. The USS Hornet Sea, Air and Space Museum also had Jeep concept cars like the Jeep JK 75th Salute, JK Staff Car, JK Sarge J8, T1, JK Crew Chief and JK JT available for consumers to view on the historic vessel’s deck. The custom-built obstacle course was designed to highlight Jeep’s long history of performance. Features that tested the 2020 Gladiator and 2019 Wrangler’s traction, capability, body strength, agility and were implemented in the course. The 2019 Wrangler was named MotorTrend’s SUV of the Year and the 2020 Gladiator is Jeep’s return to the mid-size pickup market. We love seeing Jeep honor our veterans and support America’s armed forces. Here at McLarty Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT of Springdale, we can personally attest to Jeep’s claims of top-of-the-line traction, capability, body strength, agility and performance. Your 2020 Jeep Gladiator Off-Road Survival Kit

Summer is winding down and it’s almost time for the kids to start back up again at school. There’s still plenty of time to plan another fun-filled adventure, and what better vehicle to do it in than the 2020 Jeep Gladiator? Whether you’re going camping along the Buffalo or roaming trails unknown, the Gladiator is more than ready to handle the rugged obstacles that Northwest Arkansas has to throw your way. Let’s take a look at some must-have items in your off-road survival kit! First off, water. Life’s most vital element is water and if you find yourself flat out of water, LifeStraw would be there to save the day. A Platypus Gravity bag never hurts to have either. Simply store up to eight liters of water in the bag, hang it up and let gravity do the rest. Seriously, you don’t want to be caught without water. While the 2020 Jeep Gladiator is built for off-road performance, sometimes human error can diminish the off-road vehicle’s performance. Let’s say you stop to camp for the night. You’ve got your tent set up, rain fly on just in case and hot dogs roaring on the fire. But, you forgot to turn off your car’s lights. Whoops. You’re going to need a jump or a new battery to get the Gladiator running again, but never fear, Uncharted Supply Company’s “ Zeus” Battery is strong enough to revive even the largest trucks. It even has USB outlets in the event of a dead phone or GPS. Definitely a must-have for an extended outdoor excursion. You can never plan for all of the random scrapes, bruises and, needless to say, plenty of bug bites along the way. A reliable first-aid kit is essential to every off-road adventure. Hey, it never hurts to be safe than sorry. You can pick up a starter safety-kit at just about every drug-store or supermarket, but if you’re looking for something a little more all-encompassing, check out the Sportsman 400. This kit is sure to patch up everything from the smallest of scrapes to splinting the most-painful of sprains. There’s plenty of optional gear for any adventure, allowing you to mix-and-match your gear to fit your level of expertise. We know that you’ll be blown away by the Gladiator’s performance and would love to help you get behind the wheel of Jeep’s mid-size truck! Here at McLarty Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT in Springdale, we’re committed to bringing you the best selection of Jeep Northwest Arkansas has to offer. Hidden Trio of Waterfalls You Must Visit in NWA

Arkansas has long been revered for its natural beauty and abundant outdoor recreational activities– it’s called the natural state for a reason. Whether you love biking along river trails, hiking through brush-ridden trails or fishing hidden river-bends, Arkansas offers a little something for everyone. Northwest Arkansas has plenty of hiking trails for the casual hiker or everyday enthusiast near Springdale. Let’s take a look at one of our favorites!Hagarville, AR is a sleepy town located nearly two hours southeast of Springdale. Hagarville’s main attraction is Haw Creek Falls Campground, a local favorite for camping, swimming, fishing and hiking. The waterfalls are just six-feet tall but span forty-feet, opening up into a tranquil swimming hole. The hike from the campground’s parking lot to Haw Creek Falls is a mere 0.2 miles, but you’ll enjoy the serene beauty of the pool and the ease of access. One waterfall not enough? Hop on the Ozarks Highlands Trail that runs through the Haw Creek Falls recreational area and follow the creek upstream toward Pack Rat Falls. You won’t have to walk too far to see this gorgeous waterfall, another short 0.25-mile walk, but you’ll be more than happy you ventured this far. The 24-foot cascading waterfall commands attention and makes for a beautiful scene amidst the lush, green Arkansas pines. More waterfalls? We’ve got you covered. Backtrack down to the Haw Creek Falls rec area and cross Arkansas HWY 123 and continue along the right side of the creek for another quarter mile. You’ll find yourself enchanted by Pam’s Grotto, surrounded by bluffs and a towering 37-foot waterfall. This might be the most beautiful of the three waterfalls in the area. Snap a couple of pictures and soak it all in before trekking back to Haw Creek Falls campground. Need to cool off? Hop in Haw Creek Fall’s swimming hole and relax a bit before calling it a day. Even though you’re in the forest, be sure to bring sunscreen and plenty of water! Haw Creek Falls is worth a day-trip and is easy enough for the whole family to hike and enjoy. 15 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Jeep!

From the Wrangler to the Grand Cherokee, we love the Jeep brand here at McLarty Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of Springdale! Over the years, we’ve run across a lot of off-the-wall facts about Uncle Sam’s Best Idea, and every once in awhile, we like to share them with the fans. Seen below, check out our list of 15 little-known facts about Jeeps! And if you’re ready to buy a brand-new Jeep in Springdale, Rogers, Bentonville or Fayetteville, make the short drive to McLarty Daniel CDJRF, where our selection is deep and our commitment to unbeatable customer service will make you a customer for life! Shop Our Massive Jeep Inventory 1) No one is sure where the name “Jeep” came from, though the answers with the best shot of being true are either that it was soldiers shortening the original Army vehicle designation “GP” for “General Purpose,” from the two syllable “GEE-PEE” to the single syllable “Jeep.” The second theory is that the name was adopted from Eugene the Jeep, a small, wily, magical creature that appeared in the early Popeye cartoons prior to World War II. 2) During World War II, a prototype of a flying Jeep was developed as a quick-deployment vehicle. Called the Hafner Rotabuggy, the heavily-lightened Jeep featured a helicopter-like rotor for lift. Though the design actually made short test flights, it was never put into production. 3) There is a worldwide organization of Jeep owners known as the Jurassic Park Motor Pool. Online at jpmotorpool.com, the only requirement for membership is owning a Jeep Wrangler YJ painted to resemble the Jeep Wranglers that co-starred in the 1993 Steven Spielberg film Jurassic Park. Tips for Giving Your Jeep a Unique Personality 4) The familiar Jeep star painted on the hood of some U.S. Army Jeeps during World War II was actually a chemical weapon detector. After 1943, the circular field around the star was created with a special paint called “M5 Liquid Vesicant Detector,” which changed color from brown to bright red in the presence of poison gas. Directly in the driver’s line of sight, the star on Jeeps alerted troops that they needed to put on their gas masks a few precious minutes before the odor of chemical agents could be detected by the human nose. Think about that next time you see a Jeep Wrangler star decal! 5) The original Willys Jeeps deployed during World War II had nine slots in the grille, as opposed to the seven slot grille that has since become an iconic feature of Jeep design. 6) The original Oscar Meyer Weinermobile was built on a Willys Jeep station wagon chassis. 7) A Jeep was once driven up the steps of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington D.C. — this feat was performed in an original Willys Jeep prototype while the design was being evaluated for potential adoption by the U.S. Army prior to World War II. 8) The record for completely disassembling a running Willys Jeep down to its basic components and then reassembling it back to running status again is under four minutes! This achievement can be seen on YouTube in a video shot during a parade in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The feat was performed by a group of Canadian Army soldiers with the Third Area Support Group. 9) “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon appeared in HBO’s 2001 World War II miniseries “Band of Brothers” as a soldier driving a Willys Jeep. 4xe: The Electric Future of Jeep 10) During World War II, a Willys Jeep nicknamed “Old Faithful” (which had served as a staff car for four Marine Corps Generals in both the Pacific and European theaters) was officially awarded a Purple Heart due to damage suffered during the shelling of Guadalcanal. Retired from active duty in December 1943, Old Faithful was shipped back to the U.S. where it toured the U.S. helping sell War Bonds. It was eventually retired to the museum at the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station in Quantico, Virginia, where it remains on display to this day. It reportedly still fires up and runs smoothly, even though it has never been overhauled or restored since its original assembly. 11) In 1970, Jeep built a prototype for a small, roofless sports car, the XJ-001. Though the powerful, short wheelbase prototype was well received on the show circuit, it never made it into production, and the only example was destroyed by fire while being transported for display at the Texas State Fair. 12) American soldiers riding in bare-bones military Jeeps over rough European roads during World War II regularly suffered injuries to the tailbone. The condition was so common it came to be known as “Jeep Bottom” or “Jeep Seat.” 13) In 1959, Jeep introduced a special version of the Jeep CJ just for hotels and holiday resorts: the Jeep Surrey. Painted in bright pastel colors like pink and light blue, with fringed tops in boldly striped fabrics, Jeep Surrey models are exceedingly rare today and coveted by collectors. Elvis Presley owned a pink Jeep Surrey which he used to drive visitors around the grounds at Graceland. 14) There’s no such thing as a 1996 Jeep Wrangler! This is because of a one-year gap between the end of production of the Jeep Wrangler YJ in 1995 and the start of production of the Jeep Wrangler TJ in 1997. Upgrade Your Jeep with Our Mopar Parts & Accessories 15) The famous Museum of Modern Art in New York City has a 1953 Willys Jeep in its collection, citing it as an example of automotive design in its purest form.
