To honor the U.S. military, Jeep returns with the Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition, showing some four-wheeled appreciation for men and women who serve and have served our country bravely. THE RETURN OF THE FREEDOM EDITION: The Jeep brand is returning the Wrangler Freedom edition to the legendary SUV’s lineup as a tribute to U.S. military members and a salute to the sacrifices they make to help keep us free. “We are thrilled to bring the Wrangler Freedom model back to the Jeep lineup as a tribute to active and retired members of the U.S. military,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand. The 2020 Jeep Wrangler Freedom edition has a military-themed exterior and interior design, and the Jeep brand will make a $250 donation to the United Service Organizations (USO) with every Wrangler Freedom edition sold. MILITARY THEME: This Wrangler special-edition vehicle is based on the Wrangler Sport S and features unique exterior details, including an American flag placed above the Jeep brand logo on both the driver and passenger side near the front fenders, a new hard “Oscar Mike” (a military phrase that translates to “On the Move”) badge on the rear tailgate, as well as a large “Oscar Mike” military star decal on the hood. For years now, Jeep has been tantalizing devotees of the Jeep brand by rolling out a small fleet of one-off Jeep concept vehicles at the annual Easter Jeep Safari held every spring in Moab, Utah. Now that storied off-roading playground is lending its name to the first special edition model of the completely redesigned 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL: the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Moab! Click here to shop our selection of 2018 Jeep Wrangler models online Announced by Jeep on August 28, the 2018 Wrangler Moab is based on the Jeep Wrangler Sahara model, and features the Sahara’s body-color hardtop as standard equipment.What sets the Wrangler Moab apart, however, are a number of factory mods lifted from the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon edition, which help make the Moab into a tough-as-nails off roading machine that’s as happy on the trail or blasting through mud as it is on city streets. The Wrangler Moab includes the 2018 Rubicon’s signature hood with functional air intakes, as well as the Rubicon’s steel bumpers with removable end caps. Jeep Rubicon also lends the Moab its high-strength steel rock rails to protect the lower body (Sahara style side steps are also available). The hood sides are adorned with low gloss black “MOAB” decals, with the headlight surrounds, grille throats, front tow hooks and 17-inch wheels — the latter also borrowed from the Rubicon — painted the same matte black. Putting the power to the ground are 32-inch mud-terrain tires with aggressive tread, while LED headlights and tail lights are standard. The body color hardtop is also standard, but the new Sky One-Touch power sliding top and the new, easier-folding fabric top are also available. Inside, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Moab is as premium as the outside, with standard leather-trimmed seats and leather wrapped dashboard with contrast stitching.
