Dodge debuts new Stars and Stripes Edition Challenger, Charger to salute military vets

Since World War II, Dodge and sister brand Jeep have been rolling into combat with America’s armed forces, with Dodge supplying ambulances, heavy trucks and staff cars that literally carried U.S. forces to victory in the Pacific and European theaters. Now Dodge is honoring that long partnership with the brave men and women of the U.S. Military with two new special edition performance cars: the 2019 Dodge Challenger and Charger Stars & Stripes Editions. Featuring unique military-themed badging, stripes, color combos, interior features and emblems, the cars are sure to be a hit with military vets and anyone who wants to honor the sacrifices our soldiers make while in uniform. The Stars & Stripes Edition Dodge Challenger and Charger debuted at the 2019 New York International Auto Show in New York City, with Dodge pointing out that the brand has the highest percentage of active-duty military customers among all major brands in the U.S. automotive industry. In addition, the Dodge Challenger and Charger have the highest percentage of active-duty military buyers in their respective vehicle segments of the market. “Dodge is known for delivering custom looks straight from the factory. 5 Iconic Dodge and Plymouth Cars in Movies

Photo Credit: “Christine” (1983) Since the early days of film, cars and movies have gone together like peanut butter and jelly. Given that cars made by Dodge have been part of the fabric of America almost as long as movies, it’s understandable that a few Mopars have wound up starring alongside human actors and actresses in some of our favorite films. Shop Our Huge Selection of Dodge Vehicles Seen below are five iconic Dodge and Plymouth cars that played a starring role in some of cinema’s greatest flicks. Check out our list, and if you have any of your own favorites, share them in the comments! And if you’re looking for a new vehicle to take you to your own next star turn, stop in today at McLarty Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of Springdale, where our great selection, unbeatable deals and service after the sale will make you a customer for life! “Vanishing Point” (1971) 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 Magnum One of the iconic fast-car movies of the 1970s, “Vanishing Point” revolves around former race car driver and Vietnam Vet Kowalski (Barry Newman), who bets an acquaintance that he can deliver a car from Denver, Colorado to San Francisco, a distance of over 1,200 miles, in under 16 hours. That car: a ten-new, white 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 Magnum. From there, the film is a superfly 1970’s fever dream in the desert that recalls some of the trippier moments of flicks like “Easy Rider,” full of equal parts weirdness and horsepower as Kowalski, drugged out of his mind to help him stay awake, blasts across the desert toward California in the souped up Challenger with police in hot pursuit. Like a lot of 1970s films about anti-heroes, it doesn’t end well for him, or for the beautiful white Challenger that is now one of the most iconic 70s Mopar cars. While “Vanishing Point” is not everybody’s cup of tea, the film — and its explosive ending — has since become a classic. “Christine” (1983) 1957 Plymouth Fury Based on one of the early novels of horror master Stephen King and directed by horror film master John Carpenter, 1983’s “Christine” starts with the most American of stories: a kid named Arnie (Keith Gordon) finds a junked-out car, buys it, and pours every dime and minute of his spare time into fixing it up. Little does he know at the start, the blood-red and white 1957 Plymouth Fury he buys happens to be both haunted and somehow alive, with the murderous autonomous vehicle bent on destroying everybody who stands between Christine and her new owner. Even weirder, Arnie’s time with Christine begins to change the geeky, picked-on teenager into someone his friends and parents don’t even recognize, with deadly results. In the end, Arnie’s friends make a desperate play to save him from his four-wheeled bad girlfriend, with a metal-crunching demolition duel in a giant warehouse. Containing one of the most spectacular fire stunts in cinema history and a plot that’s still unsettling today, “Christine” still stands up, and the classic 1957 Plymouth Fury coupe has since become an icon of unease because of it. Photo Credit: dhautomotive.biz “The Blues Brothers” (1980) 1974 Dodge Monaco police interceptor sedan While John Belushi and Dan Akroyd still rule as The Blues Brothers, America’s favorite shiftless musicians “on a mission from God,” the Bluesmobile — a 1974 Dodge Monaco Police Interceptor sedan bought by Elwood Blues at auction and still bearing its black and white livery (along with, famously, it’s cop shock, cop motor, cop shocks, cop tires, etc) — almost steals the show in several scenes. That includes the Blues Brothers’ run-in with a dastardly gang of Illinois Nazis, a slapstick police chase through an indoor shopping mall full of stores and customers, and an spectacular backflip maneuver Jake and Elwood use to evade the cops. While the 1974 Monaco doesn’t look like much, it perfectly fits the goofy tone of what has become one of the most beloved comedies in film history. Famous Movies That Filmed in Arkansas “Bullitt” (1968) 1968 Dodge Charger 440 R/T The Highland Green 1968 Ford Mustang 390 GT piloted by Steve McQueen in 1968’s “Bullitt” gets the majority of the glory when people talk about the iconic film, but it takes two to tango, and the McQueen’s dance partner in the film’s greatest car chase through the hills of San Fran is, in its way, just as impressive: a jet-black 1968 Dodge Charger R/T with a 440 cubic inch big block under the hood. The car, driven by two shotgun-wielding heavies gunning for McQueen’s Detective Bullitt, is dealership perfect when the chase begins, right down to the mirror-slick body and hubcabs. Sadly, the Charger takes quite a beating over the ensuing 10 minutes of screentime, culminating in a fiery end when the big coupe careens into a gas station with explosive results. Though the muscle car carnage may make fans of the now-rare second generation Dodge Charger want to look away, the result was a truly incredible street showdown between two legendary  performance cars of the late 1960s. Photo Credit: carandclassic.com “Duel” (1971) 1971 Plymouth Valiant De Luxe sedan The debut film of director Steven Spielberg, 1971’s “Duel” shows the young master already at work, playing with a lot of the themes and techniques he would later bring to instant classics like “Jaws” and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” Starring Dennis Weaver as a salesman behind the wheel of a red 1971 Plymouth Valiant four-door as he heads across the desert toward an appointment in California, the film’s plot starts simply enough, with Weaver’s character overtaking a lumbering, grungy 1955 Peterbilt tanker truck on the highway. That routine act soon turns into the duel seen in the title, however, with the never-seen driver of the Peterbilt menacing Weaver’s character at every turn and eventually becoming homicidal, with a 25-ton truck as his weapon. The result is a confrontation unlike anything ever seen on film, and a flick that ratchets up the suspense and anxiety like no other. If you’re like most, it’ll come to mind every time you pass an 18-wheeler on the highway. First Look: All-New Dodge Charger EV

Dodge and Chrysler introduce 35th Anniversary Editions of the 2019 Pacifica, Grand Caravan | McLarty Daniel CDJRF of Springdale

Way back in 1984, Dodge and Plymouth introduced two vehicles so revolutionary that their impact is still being felt in the automotive world today: the Dodge Caravan and the Plymouth Voyager. Smartly designed and almost infinitely flexible for growing families, the 1984 Caravan and Voyager were game changers that allowed for big-time cargo hauling and big time people moving in one economical vehicle. Thirty five years later, 14.6 million families worldwide have owned at least one Dodge, Plymouth or Chrysler minivan, and FCA products retain a 55 percent share of all minivans sold. To celebrate that spirit of innovation and 35 years of success, FCA has announced they will introduce special 25th Anniversary editions of the 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan, 2019 Chrysler Pacifica and 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. “We created the minivan segment, we're proud of our place in it, and we will continue to innovate like we've done with the first hybrid minivan, industry-exclusive Stow ‘n Go seating, Uconnect Theater with 10-inch touchscreens in the second row and much more,” said Steve Beahm, Head of Passenger Car Brands, Dodge//SRT, Chrysler and FIAT – FCA North America. “More than 14.6 million families have created lasting memories in their minivans throughout the past 35 years, through home projects, road trips, soccer practice, you name it. There is no better way to commemorate the anniversary of the people mover that does it all, than by introducing an edition that offers even more value to today's families.” Features of the special-edition vans are: Chrysler Pacifica/Pacifica Hybrid 35th Anniversary Edition: Building on the smart and sporty styling of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica, the 25th Anniversary Pacifica models will feature special 35th Anniversary badging and a unique Liquid Chrome Chrysler Wing emblem with gloss black insert on the front fascia grille and rear liftgate. Inside, the special edition will feature a luxurious, all-black interior with cranberry colored accent stitching on perforated leather seats, with matching leather-wrapped steering wheel and door trim, plus special bezels on the instrument panel and door handles, and a 35th Anniversary embroidered logo on the front floor mats. Touring L 35th Anniversary models will include a memory driver's seat, three-row seating, overhead flip-down DVD player, special wheels, a dual-pane sunroof. The Limiter 35th Anniversary edition will include special 20 inch alloy wheels and polished badging. Ram introduces a new multifunction tailgate | McLarty Daniel CDJRF of Springdale

Since the introduction of motorized trucks over 100 years ago, the tailgate has been pretty much unchanged: a flat, hinged panel to keep your chickens, turnips or topsoil from spilling out the back of the bed when you accelerate or hit a hard bump. The engineers and designers at Ram, however, aren’t ones to think “good enough” is good enough for the most demanding drivers in the world. With that in mind, Ram recently debuted the new multi-function tailgate for the 2019 Ram 1500, adding even more functionality to an already great pickup. In addition to being a fully-dampened, remote-release tailgate that swings down and operates in the conventional manner, the new 2019 Ram 1500 multifunction tailgate adds a first of its kind 60-40 split, with hinges on either side that allow the tailgate to be swung open from either the driver or passenger side, or both at once. The unique mechanism allows for easier unloading and loading of the bed, easier washing out after hauling dirty or muddy loads, and even loading of the bed with a forklift. Unlike the MultiPro tailgate from GMC and other multi-function tailgates, Ram’s split tailgate is trailer friendly, and doesn’t require the trailer or hitch to be removed to enable full functionality. And with a 2,000-pound maximum load rating, the Ram split tailgate doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice any ruggedness or capability. The tailgate has four configurations: open flat like a conventional tailgate, open left door only, open right door only and open both doors. Each door swings open 88 degrees. A retractable, center-mounted step option is also available. “The Ram multifunction tailgate is intuitive to operate and owners will find it immediately useful,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand – FCA. “Combined with Ram’s class-exclusive RamBox feature and new tailgate step, we’re taking Ram’s cargo management and storage to the next level.” The multifunction tailgate will be available across all seven 2019 Ram 1500 trim levels, and will be available at Ram dealerships this summer as a $995 option. The optional center step is $295. It’s just one of the hundreds of ways the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 is bigger, bolder, better and more beautiful than any other truck on the road. Ram introduces the all-new 2019 Ram Heavy Duty trucks! | McLarty Daniel CDJRF of Springdale

When it was released last year, the 2019 Ram 1500 turned the truck world on its head with a winning combination of beautiful styling, unstoppable power and capability and refinement and comfort that rivals high-end luxury SUVs. Now, the 2019 Ram 2500 and 3500 HD trucks are poised to do the same for light-duty trucks! Just released at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the 2019 Ram HD features a bigger, burlier take on the styling of the 2019 Ram 1500, plus the incredible torque and horsepower of a next-gen heavy duty Ram drivetrain. That includes an unmatched 1,000 lb.-ft. of torque from the all-new 6.7-liter Cummins High Output Turbo Diesel! STYLING: While the recent release of the 2020 Chevy Silverado HD shows how designers can go a bit overboard with the styling of their top-tier heavy duty trucks, the 2019 Ram HD takes is a gorgeous take on the new Ram silhouette. A bold take on the bumper and grille lead the way, accentuated by tri-lense headlamps with advanced LED and the optional adaptive front-lighting system for a confident and athletic look. Unique wheel choices and grille designs will highlight the differences between six distinct trim levels. Inside, the 2019 Ram HD features a totally redesigned interior with premium materials and a center console with a dozen different storage configurations, assignable switches, a wireless charging dock and multiple charging ports. The Mega Cab configuration lives up to its name with more legroom than ever and the most interior storage of any full-size truck: 258 liters, which is over twice as much as the nearest runner up. Keeping things calm and quiet, meanwhile, is active noise cancellation, anti-vibration components and acoustic glass. Keeping you connected, entertained and in command is the Uconnect 4C NAV with a 12-inch fully configurable screen, including SiriusXM 360L, and an available premium audio system by Harman Kardon with 17 speakers and 750 watts of power. PERFORMANCE AND CAPABILITY: Given Ram’s long history of setting the benchmark when it comes to heavy-duty power and torque, you knew the 2019 Ram HD was going to go big on horsepower and torque, and boy have they delivered. Standard power in the 2019 Ram HD is the legendary 6.4-liter gasoline Hemi V8, with class-leading 410 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft of torque. For those who need the tugboat-like power and reliability only diesel can provide, the 2019 Ram HD line has a heck of a solution: the legendary Cummins Turbo Diesel, with 370 horsepower and a whopping 850 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,700 rpm, smack dab in the middle of where you need it when towing or hauling. Need even more power? Then hold on to your hat, because the 2019 Ram HD feature the optional 6.7-liter Cummins High Output Turbo Diesel! Made from cutting-edge compacted graphite iron for a block and heads that weigh 60 pounds less than the previous 6.7-liter Cummins, the new HO turbo-diesel in the 2019 Ram HD has hit the magic number of 1,000 lb.-ft of torque, and 400 horsepower thanks to incredibly robust engine internals including forged crank and connecting rods, with deep breathing provided by an all-new variable geometry turbo with laminated heat shields which can deliver up to 33 psi of boost! The result is simply the highest-ever capability for an HD pickup: 35,100 pounds of towing, and 7,680 pounds of payload. Helping the 2019 Ram HD ride as good as it looks is an all-new suspension featuring Frequency Response Damping shock, progressive rate springs and re-engineered bushings, and an exclusive rear air suspension that can be driver-tuned to lower the bed, tow a trailer, normal driving or to maximize the suspension for payload. Putting that power to the ground is the smooth-shifting TorqueFlite Heavy Duty eight-speed auto with shift-by-wire technology. The transmission features more than 40 shift maps to optimize your drive for fuel economy, performance and towing, with shifting via a rotary dial mounted on the instrument panel. Ram put some thought into the running gear for those who need the capability of a 4×4, too, with the BorgWarner part-time transfer case, designed to handle the massive torque produced by the high output Cummins. “Ram Heavy Duty owners constantly demand the highest levels of capability to tackle the biggest jobs and with 35,100 lbs. of towing capacity, pulled by 1,000 lb.-ft. of torque from our Cummins engine, we now hold the most important titles within the segment,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand. “We’ve also surrounded owners in luxury and technology that, until now, was unavailable in a heavy-duty pickup. The highest quality interiors, active safety systems and of course our award-winning Uconnect technology contribute to the best Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks we have ever built.” If you can’t tell, we’re pretty excited to get the all-new 2019 Ram 2500HD and 3500HD trucks on the lot here at McLarty Daniel CDJRF of Springdale. 2019 Ram 1500’s 3.6-Liter V6 named to Wards 10 Best Engines of 2019 list! | McLarty Daniel CDJRF of Springdale

The influential automotive publication WardsAuto has already shown their love for the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 this year, naming the 2019 Ram to their 10 Best Interiors of 2018 list back in April, and their 10 Best User Experiences of 2018 list in September. Now they’ve announced that the 2019 Ram 1500’s 3.6-liter V6 with the eTorque mild hybrid system has been included on their 10 Best Engines of 2019 list! It’s a rare triple-crown honor WardsAuto for the 2019 Ram 1500, which has been steadily racking up awards since the model went on sale earlier this year. Founded over 100 years ago, Wards is one of the world’s most trusted sources when it comes to reviews of new vehicles. Since its debut, Wards has reviewed and rated over 2,000 new vehicles, with their editors completing 150 comprehensive auto evaluations every year, judging each vehicle on factors including comfort, styling, engineering, fuel economy, horsepower and torque and more, as well as judging them against other vehicles in their class. Only the best of the best wind up on Ward’s annual 10 Best Lists, which makes the clean sweep by the 2019 Ram for its interior, engine and overall build quality, a rare honor. The 2019 Ram 1500’s revolutionary eTorque system — available on both the 3.6-liter V6 honored by Wards, and the legendary 5.7-liter Hemi — works by replacing the standard alternator with a small, water cooled generator that sits atop the motor. In addition to charging the truck’s standard 12-volt battery, the generator also sends excess energy captures while coasting or braking to a suitcase-sized, 48-volt battery pack in the rear wall of the cab. When the eTorque system senses a need for low end grunt when towing or taking off from a standing start, the generator instantly switches to become a powerful electric motor, delivering torque directly to the crankshaft via the same eight-rib, high-strength belt that turns the generator during normal operation. In the 3.6-liter V6, eTorque instantly adds up to 90 lb.-ft of torque on demand, with no input required from the driver. With the 5.7-liter V8, the system is good for up to 120 lb.-ft. of torque. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with eTorque is rated at a robust 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque, with two wheel drive Rams delivering EPA-estimated fuel economy of 25 miles per gallon on the highway. “The Pentastar V-6 engine with eTorque shows how electrifying components of conventional engines can create magic under the hood,” said Drew Winter, senior content director at WardsAuto. “The all-new 48-volt mild-hybrid eTorque system provides a dollop of electrical propulsion during launch and while shifting gears, creating seamless, buttery smooth power to the wheels and improved fuel economy.” Winter said that judges evaluated a four-wheel-drive 2019 Ram 1500 with the eTorque V6, and noted fuel economy of between 21 and 22 mpg in over 800 miles of testing, which Winter called “outstanding,” adding that the system works imperceptibly to up torque and fuel economy. “The versatility of our workhorse Pentastar V-6 engine family is unquestioned, with more than 9 million produced,” said Ram’s head of powertrain development Bob Lee. “This latest Wards milestone represents the sixth time the 3.6-liter engine has been recognized with three different iterations. 2021 Dodge Challenger

Supercharged Hellcat, Demon and Trackhawk models break $3 billion in gross sales | McLarty Daniel CDJRF of Springdale

Just when you thought the high horsepower Hemi Chargers and Challengers of the 1960s had roared their last, the great American muscle car is back and better than ever, with old fashioned engineering and high-tech superchargers making today’s Dodge and Jeep products better and more powerful than they were even in the Good Ol’ Days. With the Challenger and Charger Hellcats and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawks now the undisputed kings of modern horsepower, it’s hard to believe there was a time when people believed developing and putting the brand’s cutting edge, supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi in production cars would be a money loser for Dodge and Jeep’s parent company Fiat-Chrysler. Since the first supercharged Dodge Charger was introduced in 2014, however, the brand has consistently proven the naysayers wrong on the subject of Hellcats, Demons and Trackhawks, with the public snapping up the ultimate performance models as fast as they can be produced. With the American thirst for uncompromising horsepower apparently limitless, FCA recently crossed the $3 billion dollar mark in gross sales of their supercharged Hemi cars and SUVs. With other high-performance supercharged Hemi V8 vehicles apparently in the works, including rumors of a Ram 1500 Hellcat pickup truck by 2020, and the introduction of the new 2019 Widebody Hellcat Challengers — which feature Challenger Demon-style fender flares to allow the cars to run much wider tires for more grip — $4 billion in gross receipts for supercharged Hemi models could come quicker than you think. Since the supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 was introduced in the 2015 model year, FCA has built over 30,000 vehicles powered by the engine, which is topped with a low-profile, high-volume twin-screw supercharger. That total is shared between the Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat, Dodge Challenger Demon, and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk models, but doesn’t include vehicles already sold for the 2019 model year. In addition to the high-horsepower Hemi engine, the vehicles include high-performance go-fast goodies like large-diameter racing disc brakes, beefed up drivetrain components, and a special “launch” mode that optimises the engine, transmission and pther vehicle systems for the dragstrip. The highest horsepower supercharged model FCA has produced so far was the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, with 840 horsepower on tap, produced in a limited-edition run of only 3,300 examples. The stratospheric amount of horsepower and torque produced by the 6.2-liter Demon engine, along with engineering tricks like an intercooler that re-routes the air conditioning to chill the air coming into the engine, allowed the 2018 Challenger Demon to go from zero to 60 in 2.3 seconds and run the quarter mile in a lighting-fast 9.65 seconds at over 140 miles per hour. On takeoff, the Demon could actually pull the front tires into the air — the only production car ever built with that ability. The other supercharged Hemi cars built since 2015 produce 707 horsepower. For the 2019 model year, the Dodge Hellcat SRT Charger has a starting price of $65,345, while the Dodge SRT Hellcat Challenger starts at $58,650. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk, meanwhile, has a starting price of $86,650. It’s another way that Dodge and Jeep are pushing American automobile design and engineering boldly into the new century. Dodge releases details on 2019 Scat Pack, Hellcat Chargers | McLarty Daniel CDJRF of Springdale

Though the legendary Dodge performance division went through some lean years in the 1980s and ‘90s, they have definitely got their Mopar Mojo back since the mid-2000s, fielding incredible cars like the Challenger and Charger SRT and Hellcat models, and the 2018 Challenger Demon, which — with 840 hp on tap plus advanced launch control — could do cool tricks like doing wheel standing dragstrip launches from the factory. While the limited-edition 2018 Challenger Demon has growled off into the fiery sunset, that doesn’t mean Dodge is going to pack up their toys and quit! Announced just this week are their high-performance plans for the 2019 Dodge Charger, including the details on the new 2019 R/T Scat Pack and SRT Hellcat Chargers. Read on for more details of these amazing new sedans, scheduled to arrive in dealerships this fall. Click here to shop our selection of 2018 Dodge Charger models 2019 Charger R/T Scat Pack: The most affordable of the two high-horsepower Chargers announced recently, the 2019 Charger R/T Scat Pack is priced under $40,000, but is a considerable amount of performance bang for your buck. Under the hood is a naturally-aspirated 392 cubic inch Hemi V8 pumping out 485 hp and 475 lb.-ft. of torque, backed by a beefed up Torqueflite 8-speed automatic. New on the Scat Pack Charger for 2019 is a standard Line Lock, which locks the front brakes while allowing the rear tires to spin freely, making for massive burnouts… at the dragstrip. Yeah. That’s the ticket. Also new is launch assist. Operated through a switch on the dash, the system optimizes the engine, transmission, drivetrain and suspension for perfect standing-stop launches at the dragstrip, for lower quarter-mile times and less wheel spin on takeoff. Visually, the 2019 Charger R/T Scat Pack gets a new performance grille with dual, fully-functional air ducts in the grille, while at the rear, there’s a retro Scat Pack Bee emblem. Also available are dual stripes, a satin black contrasting hood with a center scoop and twin ducts, and Bilstein three-mode active damping suspension. 2019 Charger RT Hellcat: In this world full of incredible performance cars, saying that something is the quickest, fastest and most powerful four-door sedan on the planet is a bold statement, but one which the amazing 2019 Dodge Charger Hellcat can back up with hard numbers. Putting their muscle where their mouth is, under the hood is the same awesome 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 from the 2018 Challenger Hellcat and 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, delivering a staggering 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. Backed by a speed-shifting Torqueflite 8-speed automatic with available steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters, the engine is chock full of crazy performance tech, including a system — shared with the awesome 2019 Challenger Hellcat Redeye — which diverts coolant from the air conditioning to chill air on its way to the supercharger, boosting horsepower. The 2019 Charger Hellcat also takes advantage of an After-Run Chiller, which keeps cooling the supercharger even after the engine is turned off, making sure the engine is constantly at optimal operating temperature. Another trick feature of the 2019 Dodge Charger Hellcat is Torque Reserve, which contributes to brutal drag strip launches by closing a bypass valve to pre-fill the supercharger with boost, then automatically tinkers with fuel delivery and spark timing to help the engine rev higher, building even more boost until it’s time to smash the go-go-pedal.  Like the Scat Pack Charger, the 2019 Hellcat Charger also benefits from the new dual snorkel grille, feeding fresh, cool air directly to the intake. For anyone who ever lamented not being around for the muscle car wars of the 1960s, these are great times to be alive, with factory hot rods from Dodge laying down horsepower, torque and quarter mile numbers that the original crop of Mopar muscle from the good ol’ days could only dream about. 2018 Dodge Journey

Oh the places you’ll hide: Storage and Cargo Options in the 2018 Dodge Journey | McLarty Daniel CDJRF of Springdale

One of the downsides to taking a road trip of any duration is finding places to securely stow all your stuff. There's nothing worse that starting out on an extended trip in a car that, once you get it packed, looks like the Joads lighting out for California in “The Grapes of Wrath.” Luckily for you, there's the 2018 Dodge Journey, and it's packed with well-hidden cubbies, hidey holes, compartments and bins to make keeping your stuff secure, safe and out of sight on a trip to the store or across America easier than ever. If you're thinking you might want to buy a 2018 Dodge Journey in Rogers, Arkansas, come see us at McLarty Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat in Springdale. We can walk you through the 2018 Journey's innovative Smart Storage System. Stop in today for a test drive, shop our selection of 2018 Journeys online, and read on for more details about the storage options to be had in the new 2018 Dodge Journey that's waiting for you at McClarty Daniel CDJRF in Springdale! Click here to shop our selection of 2018 Dodge Journey models Front Passenger Seat Storage One of the few downsides of owning an SUV instead of a sedan is the lack of a lockable trunk in which to to store small valuables when you're on the road or just running around town. Leave a camera, wallet, designer sunglasses or smartphone out in the open and forget to lock the doors just once, and that'll be the day someone with light fingers strolls by, looking for an easy score. That's what makes the 2018 Dodge Journey's secret compartment under the passenger-side front seat cushion so valuable. Big enough to store a small laptop or full-size DSLR camera, the space is easily accessible from the driver's seat as long as you don't have a passenger, and what thief is going to think of looking under the passenger seat cushion while quickly rifling through an unlocked car? When combined with the large compartment in the front console and huge door bins, it makes for several cubic feet of handy storage where you need it most. Second-Row In-Floor Storage Bins Don't get us started on traveling with kids. From snacks to wet-wipes, diapers to roll-up changing pads, iPads to favorite stuffed toys, kids sure do need a lot of stuff for people so small! If you feel like you need to hire a sherpa to help with the cargo every time you go on a trip with the kids in the back seat, the 2018 Dodge Journey's second-row in-floor storage bins were made for you. There's two of them, one under each second row floor mat. Each has a sturdy ABS lid and 1.6 gallons of interior room with the lid shut. Even better for long trips when you don't want to do a lot of stopping for cold sodas and perishable snacks, each is insulated like an ice chest, with a removable, watertight liner, and each one can hold up to a dozen 12-ounce cans! No more lugging around that heavy, leaking ice chest! Cargo Area In-Floor Storage Another of those why-didn't-somebody-think-of-this-before ideas that has been made reality in the 2018 Dodge Journey is the storage compartment that runs the full width of the rear cargo floor behind the third-row seats. Big enough for golf clubs, baseball bats and gear, golf umbrellas, compact folding chairs, or anything else you need to take along with you on a trip, the compartment is accessible by twisting a convenient latch, and the heavy-duty ABS plastic lid is tough enough to not collapse, even if you pile on heavy stuff in the rear cargo area. Fold Flat Seats While all that hidden, lidded cargo space in the 2018 Dodge Journey is more than welcome in today's fast-paced world, what if you've got something too big to fit even in the Journey's available storage compartments? A taxidermied llama, for instance, or that life-sized statue of James Earl Jones, or the eight-foot log your sister just had to have for her log collection? Well, when in need, the entire interior of the 2018 Dodge Journey can become a storage compartment, thanks to the Journey's fold-flat seats. Standard on all 2018 Dodge Journey Models, both the second and third row seats and the front passenger seat can fold down flat, opening up a whopping 67.6 cubic feet of space for cargo. That's big enough for a full-sized kayak, or, in a pinch, a full-sized friend whose girlfriend temporarily kicked him out of the house! Whatever you need to stow, hide, carry, squirrel away or keep from prying eyes, the 2018 Dodge Journey has a clever compartment for that, and they're just a few of the incredible and innovative design features to be found on the all-new 2018 Dodge Journey. If you're in need of a road-tripping machine that can really haul the family freight, come see us at McLarty Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat in Springdale!
