What the Tech?! The Technology in the 2022 Wagoneer & Grand Wagoneer

The 2022 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer have flipped the script on the full-size luxury SUV market by introducing a wide range of advanced technology that is changing the rules of the SUV infotainment game. From the innovative Uconnect 5 Global Platform to the multitude of touchscreens, to the integrated Amazon Fire TV for Auto, the 2022 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are about to leave the Cadillac Escalade, Range Rover, and the like in the dust. 

UCONNECT 5: At the center is the Uconnect 5 Global Platform that allows for an intuitive user experience and personalization, by letting the driver establish vehicle preferences and settings with the touch of a button. Uconnect expands Alexa’s “Home to Car” functionality with natural voice capability and provides Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto connectivity. Another awesome feature is the Dual-phone Connectivity, which gives you the option to connect two Bluetooth phones simultaneously for users who carry multiple phones. 

PICK A SCREEN: The vast amount of screens in both the 2022 Wagoneer and 2022 Grand Wagoneer is pure convenience. The digital dash cluster is 10.3 inches on the Wagoneer and 12.3 inches on the Grand Wagoneer. The requisite infotainment touchscreen that’s 10.1 inches on the Wagoneer and 12 inches on the Grand Wagoneer, housing the latest version of Uconnect 5. Yet the 2022 Grand Wagoneer has a standard 10.3-inch display that houses climate and seat controls. It’s placed just below the main infotainment screen. 

PASSENGER TOUCH SCREEN: For our backseat drivers there is an optional in-dash 10.3-inch touchscreen available for the front passenger in both vehicles. The touchscreens can control navigation and media, monitor external cameras, watch videos, and mirror from mobile devices. Second-row passengers have access to a pair of optional 10.1-inch screens. The video on the rear displays can be controlled by the front passenger display which is wonderful for parental control.

FIRE IT UP: The 2022 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are the first vehicles in the automotive industry to integrate Amazon Fire TV for Auto, giving passengers access to their favorite TV shows, movies, apps, other vehicle features, and Alexa. Passengers can view Fire TV in high definition from the front passenger screen (a privacy filter disables driver viewing) and the rear seats. The Auto-specific remote for the Fire TV includes push-to-talk access to Alexa to easily find and quickly play shows. The remote includes a button that connects Fire TV with the new Uconnect 5 system for control of vehicle features, like climate, maps, and more.
