Enjoying the Natural State: Quick Road Trips in your Ram
Time to stretch your legs and get out of the house after a strenuous winter and social distancing. While we wait for things to get back to normal thanks to Covid vaccinations, there’s really no safer leisure activity than a long drive to enjoy the Northwest Arkansas scenery. Nothing beats taking a leisurely drive in your Ram 1500 or Ram Heavy Duty, exploring new locations or revisiting your favorite and familiar locale. McLarty Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat in Springdale, AR would like to share with you a few of our favorite outdoor hotspots that are prime examples of the Natural State’s beauty.
The Boston Mountains Scenic Loop
How can we have a list of scenic drives in NWA without mentioning the beautiful Boston Mountains? One of the most epic drives in Arkansas is Boston Mountain Scenic Loop, otherwise known as U.S. Highway 71. Once a stagecoach route in the mid-19th century, this coil of highway displays the essence of what makes the Ozarks, including winding turns, pretty mountain towns, lush valleys, and picturesque farmlands. Just west is the spectacular I-49, which stretches over green lush valleys, pristine flowing waterways and includes the only freeway tunnel in the entire state. Both routes offer plenty of areas to take photographs or hike into the mountains and get up close to Ozark beauty.
Pea Ridge National Military Park
Garfield, AR
For the Ram-trucksters who are history or military buffs, you have to check out the Pea Ridge National Military Park. Although the visitor center is still closed due to Covid-19, it is a wonderful 40-minute drive to the small town of Garfield, AR, just lying northeast of Springdale. This National Park was established to protect the Civil War battle site of Pea Ridge, which was one of the most pivotal Civil War battles west of the Mississippi River. Today, it is one of the most intact Civil War battlefields in the United States.
Devil’s Den State Park
West Fork, AR
Is the family in the mood for a nice afternoon picnic? Devil’s Den State Park is the perfect spot for family fun and getting back in touch with Mother Nature. One Northwest Arkansas’s most iconic parks, Devil’s Den is situated in the Lee Creek Valley. Some of the park’s spectacular characteristics are picturesque rock formations, caverns, and Devil’s Lake which was formed by a gorgeous rock dam spanning Lee Creek. The eight-mile lake is a favorite of the locals for fishing and boating. Another great feature is the park’s hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails which all lead to the surrounding Ozark National Forest.
This weekend, don’t wait another minute! Pack up the family and some of your favorite snacks for a wonderful drive in your Ram truck to any of these beautiful Arkansas locations. If you want to make a fresh start in 2021, purchase a new 2021 Ram 1500 or Ram Heavy Duty from your pals at McLarty Daniel CDJRF in Springdale AR! We have a vast inventory and we are here for you.
