2020 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition: Honoring Members Of The U.S. Military
As a nation, we are very proud of our veterans and currently-serving members of the United States Armed Forces. Jeep has a long military history and is proud of it. To honor the U.S. military, Jeep returns with the Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition, showing some four-wheeled appreciation for men and women who serve and have served our country bravely.
THE RETURN OF THE FREEDOM EDITION: The Jeep brand is returning the Wrangler Freedom edition to the legendary SUV’s lineup as a tribute to U.S. military members and a salute to the sacrifices they make to help keep us free. “We are thrilled to bring the Wrangler Freedom model back to the Jeep lineup as a tribute to active and retired members of the U.S. military,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand. The 2020 Jeep Wrangler Freedom edition has a military-themed exterior and interior design, and the Jeep brand will make a $250 donation to the United Service Organizations (USO) with every Wrangler Freedom edition sold.
MILITARY THEME: This Wrangler special-edition vehicle is based on the Wrangler Sport S and features unique exterior details, including an American flag placed above the Jeep brand logo on both the driver and passenger side near the front fenders, a new hard “Oscar Mike” (a military phrase that translates to “On the Move”) badge on the rear tailgate, as well as a large “Oscar Mike” military star decal on the hood. Then there is the sharp-looking, black Sunrider soft-top with deep-tint rear windows. The wheels are bold Satin Carbon-painted 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels with all-terrain tires. Side steps are installed to give a tough, fearless presence.
WITH CAPABILITY COMES POWER: Like other Wrangler editions and trims, the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition is available with five engine options: 2.0-liter Turbo with eTorque, 2.0-liter Turbo, 3.0-liter EcoDiesel, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with eTorque, 3.6-liter Pentastar. There is also the standard and available 4×4 systems that deliver legendary Jeep performance on any terrain, including the Selec-Trac 4×4 System which automatically switches from two-wheel drive on clear roads to four-wheel drive for continuous traction on snow, ice rain or mud. The Command-Trac 4×4 system delivers torque to all wheels for incredible traction when all four are required. Also, you have a 2.72:1 low range for rock crawling and neutral for available flat towing. Finally, the Rock-Trac 4×4 System gives optimal control and torque for the ultimate off-road performance. It provides a 4:1 low gear ratio, with Tru-Lok electronic locking front and rear differentials and electronic front sway bar disconnect.
